An exclusive and authentic sushi experience, The Araki serves a set tasting menu which includes cooked and raw seafood and shellfish. Our team takes great pride in the ceremony and traditions involved in preparing and presenting food for diners. As the time taken to serve meals is vital for us, please refer to Section 9 below regarding our late arrival and booking cancellation policies.
We regret we are unable to cater for vegetarians or those unable to eat raw fish or shellfish so please consider this before placing a booking. Our restaurant and its menu are also unlikely to be appropriate for infants and children under 6.
If your party is likely to include diners with allergies or specific dietary needs, please advise us when placing a booking and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Please note we will also be unable to accommodate allergies and dietary requirements not notified to us until the day of your booked meal. Please see Section 8 below for details of the notice we will require before we can issue refunds for cancelled bookings.
The Araki’s dress code is smart casual. Please inform your guests of the dress code ahead of time to avoid disappointment.

While The Araki does not have a private dining room, we do offer regular customers exclusive private hire of the restaurant for up to 12 people. Please see Section 10.2 for pricing details for such exclusive bookings.
Private hire of the restaurant for exclusive use will be granted at the sole discretion of The Araki’s management.
The Araki’s contract with its diners
How The Araki will handle your booking: Only bookings placed via website or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org will be accepted. Once your booking has been confirmed, a contract between yourself and our restaurant will come into force. Before that can happen, we will require personal data such as your name, credit card details, personal phone number and email address, etc. Our website or team will ask you for this information when you make your booking. If you fail to provide us with this information, we will be unable to accept your booking and you will not be charged. All information you provide us with will be kept completely confidential.
If we cannot accept your booking for reasons such as the restaurant is already fully booked, we will immediately inform you of our decision and will not charge you.
Your right to make changes
Should you wish to amend or cancel your booking please advise us as early as possible so we can do our best to accommodate your requested changes. If we are unable to comply with your request, you may cancel your booking. Please see Section 8 for details of how to amend or cancel a booking.
The Araki’s right to make changes
Very occasionally, The Araki may not be able to accommodate your originally specified time(s) or date(s) and be forced to amend or cancel bookings as a result. Please rest assured we will only request such changes when absolutely necessary.
Where circumstances beyond our control cause us to amend or cancel a booking, we will call to let you know and attempt to reorganize your booking and/or issue any eligible refunds as soon as we can.
Amending or cancelling your booking
Bookings for parties of 1-5 diners can be cancelled or amended (subject to availability and a HKD150 handling charge per person) up to 48 hours before customers’ meals. Customers and/or guests who arrive late or are considered “no shows” will forfeit 100% of their seat charges (HKD4,000 per person).
Bookings for 6 or more people can be cancelled or amended (subject to availability and a HKD150 handling charge per person) up to 7 working days before customers’ meals. Customers and/or guests who arrive late or are considered “no shows” will forfeit 100% of their seat charges (HKD4,000 per person).
Please note that The Araki is closed every Monday. For details, please call (852) 3988 0000. Days when we are not open will not count as working days when amending or cancelling your booking.
When requesting to amend or cancel a booking, please call (852) 3988 0000.
Should you call us to successfully amend an existing booking, no refund will be needed. Refunds will, however, be issued in cases where bookings are cancelled within the timescales set out above. After the deduction of a HK$150 handling charge for each guest who cancels, such refunds will normally be returned to the person who placed the booking via the method he/she used for payment within 14 days of their booking’s cancellation date.
Should a customer wish to reduce the number of diners within a group booking within the timescales set out above, a seat charge of HKD150 per each cancelled diner will be added to the relevant party’s final bill.
Our rights when cancelling your booking
The Araki reserves the right to cancel bookings for diners who arrive late. As eating at our restaurant is a unique experience, we endeavor to maintain the highest possible standards for our guests by strictly enforcing a maximum late arrival policy of 15 minutes.
Please be advised that should you or any member of your party arrive more than 15 minutes after the start of your meal (i.e. arriving later than 18:15 for a 18:00 booking, or later than 20:30 for a 20:15 booking), you will be considered as being in breach of your contract with us.
Please note that if we end your contract with us because you or a member of your party arrive late for a pre-booked meal, you will forfeit the full cost of each late arrival’s meal.
Prices and payment methods
Per diner prices at The Araki are fixed at HKD 4,000 (plus 10% service charge) each.
The price for private hire bookings at The Araki is fixed at HKD 48,000 (plus 10% service charge) per group per dinner time slot (a maximum of 12 diners per group).
The prices detailed in Sections 10.1 to 10.2 above do not include drinks, service charges or corkage. Corkage will be charged at a fixed rate of HKD 500 per bottle (720/750ml) and HKD 1,000 per bottle (1.5/1.8L). Limited to 2 bottles per reservation only, regardless of the reservation size.
When and how much you must pay: The Araki requests the full payment of the cost of each diner’s meal at the time bookings are placed. We accept payment via all major credit cards including VISA, MASTER, AMERICAN EXPRESS and UNION PAY. Any additional charges for drinks, service and corkage will be payable at the end of your meal.
Other important terms and conditions
This contract is between the person who made the booking or his/her designated representative and The Araki. No other person shall have any right to attempt to enforce any of the terms herein.
If the enforcing of this contract is delayed, its terms, etc, shall remain in force and can still be applied at a later date. Should we fail to immediately insist that you meet any or all of your obligations under these terms and conditions; or should we delay in taking steps against you in respect of your breaking of this contract, it does not mean that those obligations will become void. Nor will it mean we cannot take steps against you at a later date.
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Hong Kong and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts. Should there be any discrepancy between the English and Chinese version of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail. The Araki reserves the right of final and binding decision in the event of any disputes.
